Gluttony for Beauty Takes Toll in 'Yoga'

The intention of the horror movie-wannabe "Yoga" seems sound enough. Misled desire for eternal beauty and youth leads a group of already perfectly gorgeous women to a sinister place where they all end up screaming and running for their lives.

But beauty has its price, and a horror movie that focuses only on looking good certainly forfeits its scare factor.

Director Yoon Jae-yeon, who made a fantastic feature film debut with "Wishing Stairs", the third in the blockbuster high school horror series, tries to create a "this could happen to you" scenario in an urban setting. But she thoroughly disappoints, delivering instead a pitiful B-movie spoof that may, at best, be granted a spot at a minor fantasty film festival.

Horror film explores obsession with beauty

The word beauty is often associated with nature, the arts and, of course, the female sex.

And many women spend a good deal of time trying to fit that description, spending an untold amount of money on expensive haircuts, slathering themselves in anti-wrinkle creams and buying high-end makeup, perfume and jewelry.

But the pursuit of beauty can easily become an obsession, which often leads to unintended consequences - especially in today's appearance-focused world. Just look to a number of celebrities who have taken plastic surgery and Botox a little bit too far, sometimes with frightening results.

So what better time for "Yoga", a horror film that mixes the unending pursuit of beauty with a heavy dose of fear.

The movie, which is scheduled to be released next month, tells the story of five women who are locked up in a mysterious Yoga, which each had visited in the hopes of improving their looks.

Se7en Confesses Love for Actress Park

Singer Se7en Wednesday confessed his love for actress Park Han-byeol.

The K-pop artist acknowledged on his personal blog that widespread rumors about the union had not been groundless.

"It is true that I and Park Han-byeol have been more than just friends for more than seven years since we debuted. I sincerely apologize for having had to deny the rumors", Se7en said in an online message, titled "Let me tell you everything".

"We have been best friends since senior year at high school. Our friendship has remained strong and gradually turned into love".

Se7en, 24, and Park attended the same high school.

He explained that he kept their relationship secret to protect Park's privacy.

Se7en denied the courtship when photos of them dating were recently leaked from her private Internet message board.

The actress Song Ji-hyo, 27, isn't afraid of baring her soul and herself for the sake of telling the story.

Song plays the undaunted queen in Yoo Ha's "A Frozen Flower", which will be released on Dec. 30. In the film, her husband, the king of Goryeo (Joo Jin-mo), asks her to sleep with his trusted head of security (Jo In-seong). The king has no male heir and he is terrified that his kingdom will be attacked by the Great Yuan Empire.

But the king has feelings for his bodyguard and when the queen finds out that her husband is confused about his sexuality, her jealousy is so great that she throws the peaceful palace into a state of catastrophe.
