Love Request Raises W60.5 Bn over 10 Years

The KBS TV's chairty program "Love Request" will mark its tenth anniversary on Dec. 22.

Since its debut in 1997, the program has raised charity funds for the needy via an automatic response system, contributing greatly to promoting donations in the nation.

The program has raised and donated 60.5 billion won over the past ten years, helping 40,500 people in need.

The funds were donated not only by viewers but by celebrities who appeared on the program as well. To mark the program's 10th anniversary, the celebrities will release a special album entitled "Light" and will donate all proceeds from its sales to those in need.

The celebrities include Kim Jong-seo, Kim Jang-hoon, Yang Hee-eun, Super Junior, Girls' Generation, Lim Jung-hee, JK Kim Dong-wook, Big Mama, Crown J, No Brain, Jeon Jae-deok and others as well as actors Choi Bool-am and Yoo Ji-tae and poet Ahn Do-hyun.

A special edition of the program will be broadcast live Dec. 22 for 110 minutes under the title "The Wonder of 1000 Won - Thank You, Viewers".
