Light Festival Illuminates Busan

Haeundae Beach in Busan is illuminated with lights.

Once the sun goes down, Busan is being illuminated each night by colorful lanterns as the southern port city is holding a light festival which runs until late January next year.

The city's popular tourist attractions like Haeundae Beach and hip shopping streets like Gwangbok-dong and Nampo-dong are crowded with visitors who brave the cold to enjoy beautiful scenery created from the glowing lights of Christmas trees and other installations.

A Christmas caroling contest and various other events are scheduled during the festival.

Some vendors also offer discounts to shoppers who dress up in Santa costumes.
