Moon So-ri Receives Swedish Film Award for Best Actress

STOCKHOLM, Sweden - German film director Michael Schorr received awards for best film, best script and best new director for "Schultze Gets the Blues" at the annual Stockholm International Film Festival, the AP reported.

"With quiet humor and unaffected imagery, this highly personal and very life-affirming film allows the audience to fully relate to a, for the ordinary person, great drama", the jury said about Schorr's movie, at the 10-day festival that ended late Sunday.

American film director David Lynch, of the cult TV series "Twin Peaks" fame, was presented the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award in the Swedish capital on Friday.

Both directors received a bronze horse statue weighing 7.3 kilograms (16 pounds), reportedly the heaviest award in the world.

Other winners, who also walked away with bronze horses, included German actor Horst Krause for best actor in "Schultze Gets the Blues" and So-ri Moon for best actress in the South Korean film "A Good Lawyer's Wife".

At this year's 14th Stockholm festival, some 160 films from 40 countries were screened covering 11 categories.
